What's the difference between Following and Subscribing to a creator?

You can Follow a creator for free or buy a model's Paid Pass to unlock subscriber-only content. Creators decide what kind of content they want to share with followers and subscribers. They also decide who they want to give chat access to. Some creators only allow Subscribers to DM them privately.
